Learner lessons: All your learner driving lessons with us will be conducted by Alan, in our dual-controlled 2011 Ford Fiesta, and you will be taught to a very high standard, using the most current instructional methods and coaching techniques. This is to ensure that not only will you have the very best preparation to enable you to pass your driving test, but also to provide you with the resources and ability to be confident to drive anywhere after you have passed. To see all the things that you will learn see our learner driver syllabus
Weekly lessons: Over the many years Alan has been teaching he has found that a single hour per week is the least cost effective way of learning because it provides far too little time in the car for most people, and by the time you have settled in the lesson will be all over. So we recommend that you try to take either one-and-a-half, or two-hour driving lessons whenever possible, because these improve your ability to concentrate over longer periods, and give you time to practice many more things each time you drive. You will have time to recap on the previous week, settle back into driving again, experience new routes, and practice your manoeuvres. Leading up to your test two hour lessons become essential so that you are able to spend sufficient time getting used to driving on test routes, and doing mock tests.
Intensive Courses: As driving test waiting list times are about 6 weeks your intensive driving course would normaly be conducted over that period. You may find that this may be two 2-hour driving lessons a week, or maybe more or less depending on your ability. All this can be arranged around your work, or college, and can also include weekends if you require. As your driving course progresses the intensity of your driving lessons can be adjusted to suit your needs. This flexibility gives you the best possible opportunity to pass your driving test at the end of the course, and is why Alan has such an excellent driving test first time pass rate.
Mock driving tests This is so that you can get used to being in the test situation; where you must make correct decisions, without any assistance, when you need to. Doing mock tests means that you will be much more likely to pass your real DSA test first time, because you will feel much more confident in the test situation, the format will be familiar, and you will thoroughly understand the marking system.
